When good au pairs go bad...

When good au pairs go bad...ha!

B felt awful about breaking her lamp. We told her not to worry, that accidents happen. We also told her she should have just blamed the little man. :-)

Thai au pairs x three

B went out with her fellow Thai au pair yesterday. G got dropped off here and they walked down to Target and their other friend B picked them up there. G watches twins - 15 months old and a three year old. The other B was an au pair in NY for two years. She has to move back this week to complete some schooling for her visa. B is sad about that but happy she still will have G here to hang out with. She said it's like they've known each other ten years and not like they just met a couple months ago. We are very happy for her. They headed to the falls again (Minnehaha Falls) and also hit up the buffet they love so much (Chinese-Korean I believe) and played at Dave and Buster's for awhile.

The best au pair in the world!

We just love B. She likes to cook and so will surprise us with dinner sometimes. This dish was too pretty not to take a photo. And it tasted as good as it looks. I need to start watching her more closely while she cooks so I can learn some things from her otherwise I'll miss this delicious food when she's gone.

Another reason we love her. She loves t. t loves her. And she takes such good care of him. She treats him like he's her baby. With nicknames like "king" and "my boss" you just know he's captured her heart.

Ice Skating with Au Pairs

The au pairs had their monthly meeting yesterday and all the girls (and guy) plus some of their "kids" got to go ice skating. Two groups got together for this meeting and I think everyone had a good time. It was cold out (brrr!) and B thought they'd be skating indoors so she wasn't going to bring a jacket but I was able to convey to her that it was outside and she should dress warmly. However, she braved the cold and skated without it so she could show off her cute skirt! It took us awhile to explain what ice skating was. She kept thinking they were going skiing. But when we told her it was like hockey she finally understood. That's why she thought it'd be indoors...because hockey is! Naturally she had never been before yesterday. The other girls (and guy) helped her but she said it was pretty hard. I'm guessing she fell down at least once!

B is cute, we love her!

Minneapolis Sculpture Gardens

B has been spending lots of her free time on the weekends with her new friends. One of the girls is an au pair here in Minnesota for two twins about little t's age. The other girl was an au pair in New York for a couple years and has moved here to be with her boyfriend. B went on a double date (of sorts) with that friend, her boyfriend and one of his friends to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden this past Sunday. She got lots of great photos and had a lot of fun. We're very happy she's getting out and seeing things around the cities and spending time with new friends.

New Year's Eve Fun

B had a big day yesterday. She left here in the early afternoon with her friends for lunch, some shopping, a movie and games at Dave & Buster's. She came home with gifts for both boys (a Vikings football for J and a shark for t) and a very large teddy bear. I joked that she'd need to get a seat of its own for for the flight back to Thailand. It's very cuddly but t is not quite sure what to think of it. P was scared of it. Then she came home for an hour or so to get ready to go out in the evening. The same friends picked her up and they went to Sawatdee for dinner and then to the Saloon to ring in the New Year. She made it home around 3 or 4am but we never heard her come in - we were so tired and had fallen asleep just a couple minutes after we rang in the new year.
